Learning Community 2021-2022
Starting in March 2021
The Learning Community gathers every six months across the two year period to explore what it takes to lead a healthy, effective and growing church. Gatherings begin with registration at 6pm on Day 1 and finish by 3pm on Day 3. The churches are grouped by size for peer level learning. Between gatherings we provide a framework for accountability and ongoing support, which leads to significant results.
is this new?
YES! We have taken portions of our Senior Leaders Forum and Conferences, and transformed them into a Learning Community. We have researched internationally and truly believe that this will raise the standard of church leadership in our nation!
What does this look like
The Senior Leadership team commits to 4 learning community gatherings over 2 years. Each gathering focusses on a key leadership challenge. There is input from great speakers, and facilitated process time that equips each team to create a clear action plan to implement their learnings. Between gatherings there is ongoing coaching provided via zoom by the same facilitators that guided the process time at the gatherings.
- Learning Community gatherings will include the following Process:
- Reality – a realistic examination of the current reality. What is our present situation?
- Possibility – What might happen if God does more than we ask or imagine?
- Action – Moving from possibility to clear action steps.
Hosted at The Silverstream Retreat Centre in Wellington, each gathering will focus on one over-riding theme; such as Outreach, Leadership, Worship or Discipleship.
- A 2-year commitment
- 2 Gatherings per year
- Lead pastor + 3 decision-makers
- Content + process time (50:50)
- 3 zoom calls between gatherings
2021-2022 TOPICS: LEADING IN A RAPIDLY CHANGING CULTURE
- Outreach in a rapidly changing culture, 15-17 March 2021
How do we proclaim the unchanging message of the gospel to a continually changing world?
If we are to lead an outward-focused church that transforms lives and communities we must engage with the issues of today, issues of race, sexuality and justice. Our focus will be to ask the questions that will empower us to share the gospel with clarity in word and deed.
Speakers include: Sam Allberry (UK) & Andrew Gardener (HK)
- Leadership in a rapidly changing culture, 9-11 August 2021
Building sustainable ministry movements with healthy leadership. What does leading and loving your staff look like? We will focus on building healthy leadership teams that thrive and are committed to the vision.
Speakers include: Larry Osborne (USA)
- Radical Devotion in a rapidly changing culture, 14-16 March 2022
Building a compelling, memorable and transformational worship environment. We will focus on developing a culture of spiritual growth where taking a next step is the natural response to the outpouring of love for Jesus Christ
Speakers include: Tim Hughes (UK)
- Deliberate Life Change in a rapidly changing culture, – 8-10 August 2022
Developing a robust process for spiritual transformation. We will focus on the slow and steady practice of discipleship.
The cost to participate across 2020 and 2021 is $3,500 per year (total $7,000), and can be paid monthly, quartely or annually. Travel and accomodation are an additional cost. The senior team leader must be committed to attend all four gatherings, and the registration fee includes a team of three others. Additional team members can be added for $450 per person per gathering.
Includes refreshments, lunches, dinner, all gathering materials. Flights, accommodation & breakfast are at your own cost.
If you're in a smaller church context please talk with us about logistics and pricing. We believe the Learning Community will have huge benefits for churches of all sizes. Please note that these fees represent only a percentage of the real cost of a Learning Community. The remainder of the funding has been provided by donors who believe strongly in the strategic impact of the programme.
"We have looked deeply into all that we are doing through Living Stones. Our desire has been to find a way of increasing the impact of our leadership training while deepening the sense of community and fellowship around the gospel. We believe the Learning Community will deliver all this and more. I look forward to learning with you in 2021".
